Adult Matric - Amended Senior Certificate - Palabora Mining Company

Palabora Copper (Pty) Ltd hereby invite Ba-Phalaborwa Communities to apply for Adult Matric also known as Amended Senior Certificate. 

The opportunity is aimed at assisting adults who wish to obtain or improve their matric qualification. Adult Matric is available in the following learning areas:

• Home Language (Sepedi / Xitsonga HL)

• English / Afrikaans 

• Mathematics / Mathematics Literacy 

• Physical Sciences / Accounting 

• Life Science 

• Geography 

• Business Studies 

Selection and qualifying criteria 

• Must be currently unemployed South African Citizen 

• Must be 21 years of age or more 

• Learner to have one of the following 

➢ AET L4 (GETC UMALUSI) with six subjects 

➢ Grade 11 / Std 9 school leaving report stating that they have passed 

➢ Learner who failed matric (i.e. Senior Certificate / National Senior Certificate) 

➢ Learner who has already obtained matric but wish to improve their results. 

Documents to be submitted When making an application: 

• Cover Page Letter stipulating what you are applying for as well as the local where you will be attending 

• Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae 

• Recent certified copy of latest school leaving report / matric certificate 

• Recent certified copy of a South African ID 

• Proof of residential address for Ba-Phalaborwa communities (i.e. Maseke, Lulekani, Makhushane, Namakgale, Majeje, Selwane, Mashishimale and Phalaborwa Town) e, g Municipal letter or Tribal Authority letter, certified by a commissioner of Oaths Additional information: 

• This is a learning opportunity of which learners will not be receiving any stipend from Palabora Copper. 

• Palabora Copper will not be obliged to offer a permanent job to the candidates upon completion of the program 

• Successful candidates will be required to write placement assessments 

• The programs will take place at Namakgale (Sebalamakgolo High School) and Lulekani (N’wa-Risenga Primary School) at no cost 

• It will be the responsibility of the successful candidates to cover their own transport cost. 

• All training related cost will be covered by Palabora Copper 

• Priority will be given to those who failed matric or who wish to improve their matric results
