Artisan Assistant - Diesel mech

The company would like to recruit an Artisan Assistant Diesel Mechanic to be based at Khanye Colliery in Bronkhorstspruit.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum N2 Diesel Theory

Previous experience on TMM’s

Experience on Auto Electrical would be advantageous.

Valid code 10 driver’s license

Other Skills/Competencies

Successfully complete medical evaluation  

Absolutely NO previous criminal record 

Ability to perform Annual Inspections  

Solid understanding and adherence to safety and environmental standards  

Ability to work independently, under pressure and multitask  

Must be willing to work shifts and overtime as requested by the Management 

OEM (Original Engineering Manufacture) pervious training such as Hitachi, CAT Volvo, Komatsu would be advantageous  

Must be physically fit and energetic

Duties and Responsibilities

Follow a checklist of inspection procedures  

Read and interpret diagnostic test results from diagnostic equipment such as an oscilloscope, which is used to measure the voltage produced by electronic components  

Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles  

Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts  

Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components  

Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment  

Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly and diagnose malfunctions  

Ad-Hoc duties as and when required  

Experience within the transport industry earthmoving equipment will be advantageous  

Assist with breakdowns  

Adhere to safe working procedures
