Blaster - Phalandwa Colliery

The Company would like to recruit a Blaster for the Phalanndwa Colliery in Delmas.

Skills and Qualifications

Grade 12

Blasting ticket for opencast mining or Rock breaking certificate

Computer literate with Advanced Ms Excel

Valid driver’s licence with PDP

3 years of relevant experience in the mining industry

Other Skills and Competencies

Must be fluent in English.

Sound knowledge of Blaster duties

Completed medical evaluation

Maintain good relationships with co-workers and clients

Absolutely No previous criminal record

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Making of the Blast holes (Staking)

Calculating correct explosive quantities and ordering explosives

Charging of Blast holes

Tie up of Blast holes

Knowledge of pre and post-blasting admin

Inspections of blasted area

Cleaning of the blasting area and placing of guards at entrances of the blasting area
