-Anglo American Platinum - Rustenburg Base Metals Refinery (RBMR), Waterval Smelter, Acid Plant (ACP), Precious Metals Refinery (PMR) is hereby inviting applications for Engineering Exposure Training for the following disciplines: Fitters, Boilermaker Platers and Riggers . First preference will be given to qualifying applications from within our Area of Influence.

Job Description
-The successful candidates will be afforded an opportunity to enroll in an external Unemployed (18.2 B1) Three-year Learnership programme leading to the selected qualification as a qualified Artisan.

  • Learnership Fitter x 4
  • Learnership Boilermaker Plater x 5
  • Learnership Rigger x 2

Our Three-year Artisan Learnership Program is an enrichment program for the community and will enable you to develop skills with classroom and on-the-job/core training at the abovementioned operations (Rustenburg Base Metals Refinery (RBMR), Waterval Smelter, Acid Plant (ACP), Precious Metals Refinery (PMR)). This Program will enable you to maximize your potential along with a tailored plan to provide you with a future to make a difference. As you progress through your Artisan learnership program, we will help you discover your real capability and develop your skills as an Artisan.

Training Programs for Artisan Learner:

  • 1st year: Institutional training at ESTC, Engineering Skills Training Centre.
  • 2nd year: On-the-job/core training at the abovementioned operations (Rustenburg Base Metals Refinery (RBMR), Waterval Smelter, Acid Plant (ACP), Precious Metals Refinery (PMR))
  • 3rd year: Complete trade test


 

  • Qualifications
    -Matric with Mathematics (not Mathematics Literacy), Physical Science and English (all with minimum 40% pass), or
  • N2 or higher with all subjects as per the specific Discipline Requirements or
  • NCV Level - 4 in appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass.

Trade Test Requirements

  • A minimum of N2 Subjects/ certificate with applicable subjects for the relevant trade as specified:
    • Mathematics
    • Engineering Science
    • Relevant Trade Theory
    • Industrial Electronics, or Engineering Drawings or Plating Structural Drawings
    • NCV Level - 4 in appropriate trade with all subjects passed with a minimum 40% pass

Additional Information
-Learnership Conditions :

  • Must be prepared to work in a demanding plant environment
  • Work in accordance to work schedule of area and could possibly involve working shifts
  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Must pass the relevant psychometric assessment
  • Must have a medical certificate of fitness or able to obtain one
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proof of Residence must be supplied with valid and relevant tribal stamp from your tribal leader or municipal office
  • A valid South African Driver’s license will be advantageous.
