Incredible opportunity for an outgoing, dynamic person with an MSc / PhD qualification in Molecular Biology with a flair for speaking to and engaging with people!
Must have 4-5 years lab experience in molecular biology-related techniques (NGS) and have 2-3 years experience in a similar sales role. SA citizen with a valid drivers license & own vehicle. Willing to travel nationally.
Location: Johannesburg / Cape Town, willing to travel

DETAILS
An exciting career opportunity has become available for a molecular biologist with NGS experience & a flair for communicating with customers, to join their sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for business development and sales in the field of molecular genomics on a national level. The role will include travel, visiting various customers in the fields of research, academic, pathology, and clinical-related environments. The purpose of the position is to develop new business and generate leads, implementing sales and marketing plans, with the goal of expanding the current customer base and making sales of instrumentation & consumables. Responsibilities in the role may include calling customers, setting up meetings with lab staff, offering relevant genomic workflow solutions, doing equipment demonstrations, and providing high quality after sales service, sales reporting and forecasting.
REQUIREMENTS
- Masters (MSc)/Doctorate (PhD) in Molecular Biology or related life science
- 4-5 years lab-based experience using molecular biology / genomics techniques
- Knowledge & practical experience in NGS technologies
- 2-3 years customer service experience in sales in lab-based industry
- Outstanding communication skills (English), ability to speak in Afrikaans an advantage
- Strategic thinker, self-motivated, goal driven, problem solver
- Professional personal presentation & well spoken
- Willing to travel with drivers license & own vehicle
- SA citizen
